Download an available public Instagram Story
Paste a current public Instagram Story link to find its available photo or video. Visitors do not need to enter an Instagram password into InstaSnapTik.
Use the specific Story link
Open the Story in Instagram and copy its share link. Paste it into the Instagram downloader and check the returned preview. An exact Story link selects that item when it is still available, rather than silently replacing an expired item with another Story.
Browse an available public collection
A supported public profile link can open profile browsing. Choose Stories for available active items or Highlights for collections saved by the creator, then open the item you want. Availability can differ between a profile section and an individual link.
Download photos and videos individually
Use the download button beneath each preview. A collection can contain both images and videos. File quality depends on the available source; a preview or download button is not a guarantee that every item is HD.
Understand expiry and restrictions
Stories often expire after 24 hours unless saved as Highlights, and creators can remove them earlier. Private accounts and Close Friends content are unsupported. Instagram restrictions or a service interruption can also make a public Story temporarily unavailable.
If a Story cannot be retrieved
Check that the exact Story still plays in Instagram and copy its current public link. If it has expired, a Highlight link may work only if the creator saved it there. Do not submit passwords or account cookies. Only save content you own or have permission to download.
Three links, three different jobs
| Link pattern | Selects | Useful when |
|---|---|---|
/stories/creator/123…/ | One identified Story item, while available | You want a specific photo or video. |
/creator/ | A public profile for browsing | You want to choose from available Posts, Reels, Stories or Highlights. |
/stories/highlights/456…/ | A creator-saved Highlight collection | The creator has kept older Stories in that Highlight. |
An expired Story is not automatically a Highlight
If a Story is gone, opening its former item link cannot recover it. A Highlight is a separate creator-saved collection; its presence does not prove every earlier Story was retained. Open the available Highlight and check its own previews and count.
A public profile with no active Story can still have posts or Highlights. “No active public Story” describes that section at the time of the request, not the account’s entire history.
Save only content you own or have permission to download.
