A closer look at saved files

  • Added an on-device media inspector for recognized image/video headers, dimensions, aspect ratio, size and browser-readable video duration.
  • Added a worked quality guide and symptom-based troubleshooting, including the limits of metadata and temporary links.
  • Organized guides into a library and added collection and device examples to the existing guides.
  • Removed download-form code from help pages. Help pages and the inspector load no advertising scripts; the inspector also runs without analytics.

What a download check covers

Automated fixtures exercise requested-item matching, mixed collection order, incomplete-result warnings, validation of supported source hosts and signed download expiry. Range-delivery tests cover partial video requests. Separate scheduled checks use public sample posts and check the HTTP result, reported completeness, expected item count, media type, MP4 header and completed transfer.

What those checks cannot establish

A sample is not every post. Availability can differ by creator, region, content type and time. A preview does not prove that a file was saved, and a recognizable file header does not prove complete playback. The site has no private-content recovery or account-login workflow.
